About Udayan care usa
Udayan Care USA
Udayan Care USA was set up in 2010 as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit by US citizens who, while in India, dedicated their volunteer time to improving the lives of disadvantaged children. These volunteers developed a passion for their work and believed that once friends/family knew of the tremendous need in India that they, too, would want to be involved. Thus Udayan Care USA was born. The present trustees of Udayan Care USA are Jesse George Nichol (President), Anita Akerkar (Treasurer), Ms. Shraddha Gupta, Dr. Kiran Modi, and Aneesha Wadhwa.
Udayan Care India
Udayan Care USA has partnered with Udayan Care India to further our goals of caring for and protecting vulnerable children and to educating and empowering young women in India. The support from Udayan Care USA has helped Udayan Care India elevate women and children to better lives and to become more productive members of society through two main programs: Udayan Ghars (Homes) and Udayan Shalini Fellowships (USF), in operation since 1994 and 2002, respectively. Udayan Care USA has funded the start-up of a new Udayan Ghar in Jaipur, Rajasthan, as well as a USF program there. In addition, Udayan Care USA has funded the higher education of many Ghar children as well as young Shalinis in the USF program.
